Permanent Eyeliner

  • Saves time: Skip drawing or fixing your eyeliner every morning.
  • Stays put: It does not run, smear, or wash off with sweat or water.
  • Helps with mobility: Ideal if arthritis, tremors, or poor vision make daily makeup hard to apply.
  • Fuller lash look: Lash line enhancements make your sparse lashes appear thicker.

Permanent Eyeliner Aftercare

Permanent eyeliner aftercare requires keeping the area clean, dry, and untouched for 7 to 10 days. Full healing takes about 6 to 8 weeks, and you must avoid water, makeup, saunas, and rubbing to prevent infection or pigment loss.

Immediate Aftercare (First 24 to 48 Hours)

  • Manage swelling: Apply a clean, cloth-wrapped ice pack or cold compress to closed eyelids for short intervals.
  • Switch to glasses: Wear eyeglasses instead of contact lenses for the first 48 hours to avoid touching or irritating your eyes.
  • Keep it dry: Avoid direct water pressure, heavy sweating, and getting the lash line wet.

Daily Healing Rules (Days 1 to 10)

  • Do not pick or rub: Let any light scabbing or flaking shed naturally to prevent scarring or patchy color.
  • Skip eye makeup: Keep all mascara, eyeliner, and shadow away from the eyes for at least 7 to 14 days.
  • Avoid moisture traps: Skip swimming pools, hot tubs, steam rooms, saunas, and long, steamy baths for 2 weeks.
  • Protect from sun: Wear sunglasses outdoors to shield the healing skin from UV rays and dust

The 6 week follow-up:

A 6-week follow-up is essential because permanent eyeliner is a two-step process. During the first 4 to 6 weeks, your skin sheds, heals, and temporarily hides the pigment. The follow-up allows your artist to fill in patchy areas, adjust symmetry, and lock in long-lasting color.

Why the Follow-Up Matters

  • Skin Regeneration: Your body naturally pushes out some of the pigment as the top layer of skin flakes, peels, and renews itself.
  • The "Ghosting" Phase: Between weeks two and four, the pigment often looks too light or patchy because a fresh layer of skin temporarily clouds the ink
  • Spot Correction: Everyone's skin holds ink differently. The touch-up lets the artist fix gaps, fix uneven lines, or make the shade darker.
  • Safety and Longevity: Completing the second session ensures the design is sealed properly so it stays sharp and vibrant for months or years.
